Snowmobilers enjoy 416 miles of groomed trails throughout the Black Hills National Forest. There are two ski resorts within an hour’s drive of campus. Abundant trout streams entice fishermen and kayakers. Sports enthusiasts and nature lovers will find plenty of opportunities in the Black Hills. The second is at Philip High School, 330 Scottie Ave., in Philip, S.D. One is at Hale Hall, 1016 Meade St., in Whitewood, S.D. Western Dakota Technical College has two Practical Nursing Program satellite locations. Rushmore National Memorial is 21 miles from Rapid City, and Crazy Horse Monument is approximately 30 miles. The area is a major tourist destination with more than 3.6 million visitors annually. Rapid City is the second largest city in the state, the metro area has a population of more than 75,000. Rapid City is accessible by air travel to Rapid City Regional Airport. Western Dakota Tech is approximately one mile east on 44. If you are driving north on US Highway 79, turn east at Highway 44. We are located on East Highway 44 at 800 Mickelson Drive. If you are driving from the east or west on I-90 take exit 61 and follow the signs. Rapid City is located on Interstate 90 approximately 60 miles from the Wyoming border. The main Western Dakota Technical College campus is located in Rapid City in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.
